General Information

Notice Period and Conditions 

American Home Shield has the right to cancel your Plan Agreement or stop providing coverage under your plan due to the following:  

  • Failure to settle the required plan price on the due date  
  • Failure to pay contract fees on due date  
  • Fraud or misinterpretation of facts of the company’s Initial Plan Agreement Term 
  • Expiration of the Initial Plan Agreement Term  
  • Breach of Plan Agreement by the owner or an authorized representative  

If American Home Shield cancels the Plan Agreement, it will provide you with the notice of cancellation. In addition to this, the company will also provide the reason for the cancellation, which is at least 15 days before the stated effective date. The notice of cancellation will be sent via email, if you don’t have an email on file, the notice will be sent via regular mail.  

Conditions 

In general, covered items are elaborated in detail in your Plan Summary. The coverage that are provided by this agreement is subject to certain limitations as well as exclusions. The long list includes but are not limited to Initial Coverage Waiting Period, Covered Item Limit, Plan Agreement Aggregate Limit, and Special Limits. These, together with any applicable general exclusions or limitations.  

If you have several items of a specific Covered Item, bear in mind that each individual Covered item is covered but is subject to its own limit.

What information does American Home Shield need? 

American Home Shield will collect personal information to register on the Company Applications or place an order for the company’s products or services. The said information may include but are not limited to name, address, email address, and phone number.  

Bear in mind that you cannot use an offensive or vulgar user/account name (as determined by the company), infringe proprietary or trademark rights of others, or be utilized in any way that violates the applicable terms and conditions governing products or services. In addition to all these, American Home Shield has the right to deny—at its sole discretion—any user access to the Company Applications of the company or their products and services without notice, for any or no reason.  

What happens after I cancel my American Home Shield subscription? 

If you decide to cancel your American Home Shield subscription, the company will provide a pro-rata refund of the unearned Plan Price that you have paid. Consequently, the cost of the Service Request is higher than the portion of the Plan Price that you have paid as of the date of the cancellation. 

Bear in mind that you will be required to settle the lesser amount of the cost of the Service Request that you signed up for. In line with this, you will be required to pay the much cheaper amount for your Service Request. To add, the portion of the Plan Price that you have already paid, or your annual Plan Price will be deducted. It’s important to note that the administrative fee is the lesser amount of your monthly Plan Price or such amount as permitted by Applicable Law.
